Mid-August, and it’s hot. In Los Angeles, no one realizes it, but June is a very gloomy month. Due to the heat and some kind of pressure, fog roles in from the beach and blankets most of the city. It can be downright cold. So, ironically, though it is warmer here most of the year, June is one of the coolest and most depressing months of the year. This year, July started late too. The worst part of all was that I didn’t think I was going to get to wear the summer things I had purchased. This year, shoulders are “IN”. Not shoulder pads, but actual shoulders. In relation to the rest of my body, I have broad shoulders which makes it hard to find shirts that fit. So, the “no shoulder”, ” the cold shoulder” and the “strapless” looks are all great for me. I didn’t have to worry about finding shirts that fit. Besides, shoulders are Ageless Sexy. Anyone, any age, any size, can wear something that exposes their shoulders 
This outfit is strapless and both pieces are by Veronica Beard. The material, Cupro, is of great quality yet, very comfortable for a hot summer day or night. (Cupro breathes like cotton, drapes beautifully, and feels like silk on your skin.) Maybe I am reinventing myself, because I find myself drawn to these very bright colors, like red and orange, which I really never wore when I was younger. It feels great too. You are never too old to try new things. Wearing colors really makes you feel better too. If you know anything about chakras, they are the spiritual centers located within your body. Orange is the color of your second chakra which is about 2 inches below your belly button. The second chakra, when it is alive and well, promotes a sense of abundance, well-being, pleasure and sexuality. You can’t beat that!! 
This bright orange top is great styling. It is simple in its design, but the 2 layers add just the right amount of interest. The slacks are a wonderful fit. Though many women Over Fifty may not like the shorter hems on pants these days, I find them refreshing. You can really show off your shoes and gladiator sandals look particularly good. The shoes here are pumps by Coach, and the purse, which is 25 years old, is also by Coach.
