It’s not too often that people have Sunday morning weddings.  And, it was going to be over 100 degrees.  This was a very special wedding because my dear friend from Law School who I have known for almost 40 years was marrying the love of his life. It was the second wedding for the bride and groom, but you could see how much in love they are. The night before the wedding however, I wasn’t sure what to wear.

At the beginning of the summer, I saw this floral DKNY dress and it was love at first sight. I wasn’t sure if I should buy it because I had no idea where I would wear it.  I saw it in NYC at the Diane von Furstenberg – DVF store in Soho.  I saw it in Chicago at Neiman Marcus.  I saw it everywhere!!!  When I went back to New York for my son’s graduation I made a quick stop at Bergdorf Goodman’s.  Well, when  saw it there, I lost my will power and bought it.

Turns out, it has been my favorite dress of the summer.  Not only does it have a bit of a hippie vibe, but I love flowers, colors, and a variety of prints. It is also very light weight and easy breezy. This dress has been so much fun because it is purely feminine. It is almost like playing dress up when I wear it.

All silk, and sleeveless, this dress could not be any cooler unless I added ice packs. So, it worked out well that I followed my heart and bought this dress.  I have also worn it at a rehearsal dinner for another wedding, and for a Birthday brunch.  There is a lesson here, if you love it, buy it, and you will find places to wear it.

This dress is the ultimate in comfort. You can sit with your legs crossed and still look stylish.

These Stewart Weitzman nude sandals are the best investment ever made. They go with everything. They are perfect for the mature woman as well. The heel is not too high and they are very comfortable.

Vintage earrings from my mom’s jewelry box. They have a great ’60’s vibe which goes well with the dress. Mature women’s style includes Vintage from our mom’s closets too!
