Are you confused by how much athleisure wear there is today? Some is styled so well, but is made 2 sizes too small, or else you just aren’t working out hard enough? Other athleisurewear is made for serious athletes, and unless you are an Olympic swimmer over the age of Fifty, like Diana Nyad, you are probably not THAT serious of an athlete. Well, there is a new kid on the block and her name is Peach.  Peach is styled specifically for the Over Fifty woman in mind. The styles can be dressed up or down and are agelessly chic.

The fabrics are amazing as well. You’ve probably heard of the fabric Ponte?  I had heard of it, but didn’t really know what it was or why it even existed. Then, I tried on these pants from Peach.   “Ponte knit is a combination of rayon, polyester and spandex that clothing manufacturers have been using for some time. This fabric is tightly woven and keeps its shape well with extended use without color fading.”  All of us have worn the same pair of  sweats, leggings, and/or knit slacks for several days without washing them, right.   However, after wearing those for more than a day, you know they have stretched out some, if not a lot.   Even though you might want to wear them for a fourth day, they look sloppy;  have lost their shape, and are baggy in places you don’t want them to be.

Well,  ladies, those days are now behind you (no pun intended). Say hello to these Ponte pants and goodbye to wrinkles, bagginess,  or stretched out clothes.  They not only keep their shape, but the color stays forever!!  The next time you are in a fabric store, take the chance to feel the Ponte knit.  It is  semi-light weight yet it is warmer than leggings or work out clothes, meaning they are great for cooler weather.  They are also tailored in such a way that they don’t LOOK like yoga or athletic wear.  I have even worn them for dinner out to a restaurant. Below I am wearing the Barely Boot Ponte Pant in a Size Small.  After trying them on, I think I need an Extra Small (they run a bit big) because they are slightly baggy in the butt. (Unfortunately, I am not endowed like Jennifer Lopez).  I am 5’3″ and the hem is folded up about 4 inches.  So, that might help you gauge what size you would need but there is also a size chart on the website.

The barely bootcut Ponte pant

http://fashionoverfifty.com/product/ponte-barely-boot-pant/ screen-shot-2016-10-19-at-19-54-07   You can see in the rear that these are a bit baggy on me. I wear a size 4; however, as I said, I carry my weight in the front. Which brings up an outstanding feature of this pant/fabric. The stitch on the pant, is great at holding in areas that might normally bulge.  They are kind of, sort of, but not really, like shape wear.  When you are in them, you feel like you are being held together gently.   p098_black_peach_0614_cropped_600x900_front1                                                                 THE CROPPED PONTE PANT  Below, Kathy is wearing the cropped Ponte pant.  The cropped pants come right to her ankles, and she is also 5’3″.   So keep in mind, if you are 5’7″, and you don’t like the cropped look, you might want the barely boot cut style as shown above. The rise is high, which is always a good thing to keep that tummy held in. They also feel fabulous. The minute you put them on, you feel like you are not just being a slob but that you could actually go and meet someone for lunch, or even dinner, dressed in these. worth-1-2 Below is the actual photo from the catalog of the Ponte Cropped Pant.  Kathy and I believe that this model must be about 5’7′- 5’8″ based upon the fact that the pants come to just above the ankle.  If you like that look, and you aren’t that tall, you can also shorten them. Personally, I think  it looks sexy when you can see the ankle. There aren’t so many places on the body that you can show when you are Over Fifty, so why not take advantage of the ones that y0u can?   screen-shot-2016-11-01-at-01-07-10

                                                          THE FLYAWAY CARDIGAN

This flyaway cardigan is another great product from Peach. It is a feminine outer layer featuring a Zen inspired design.  The versatility of this piece is wonderful.  You can wear it open and flowing, tied at the waist, or even tied around the back for a beautiful outer layer. It is made of 95% modal and 5% lycra. This top comes in 5 different colors as well. Modal cotton is a blend of cotton and modal, which is a type of rayon made from beech tree fibers, which makes it a natural fabric.  When modal is added to cotton, the result is a fabric that is ;  less likely to shrink , softer to the touch, and more absorbent than fabrics made from 100% cotton. screen-shot-2016-11-01-at-00-42-00   screen-shot-2016-11-01-at-00-42-17 Below you can see another way of wearing the flyaway cardigan. Kathy has used it as a layering piece over a tank top. She is using one of my favorite tricks for hiding the ever expanding waist band. Wearing a longer top under a waist length top gives the great illusion of having a waist line and a longer one. worth-1-2

screen-shot-2016-10-19-at-19-55-17   Finally, here again is  yet another versatile way to wear the flyaway cardigan.  Just simply tied at the waist. This is so easy to throw on and to make something look put together.   This look above, with the Ponte Almost Bootleg pant and the Flyaway cardigan could not be easier to throw on.  No buttons, zippers or ties. The clothes keep their shape beautifully and will take you from day to night in a heartbeat.  If you do get any of these pieces you must take a photo of you wearing it so I can put it on Facebook and make you famous!! I am not really talking on the phone, I am pretending that I am saying good bye to you.
